Dear [title] [surname],

Tickets for Stamford Shakespeare Company’s performance of Lord of the Flies by William Golding

It is with great regret that TYD Theatre Makers are unable to go ahead with their production of Lord of the Flies as part of Stamford Shakespeare Company’s 2021 season. The restrictions still in place mean that it is impossible to produce this physical play in the way that we had hoped.

Although we will be providing ticketholders with the option of a full refund, we really hope that you will prefer to exchange your tickets to either the replacement production, DNA by Dennis Kelly, or one of our other productions – Love’s Labour’s Lost by William Shakespeare, Humble Boy by Charlotte Jones or The Importance of Being Earnest by Oscar Wilde.

How to exchange your tickets:

Stamford Arts Centre will contact you with details of your new booking option within the next few weeks. Many thanks for your patience during this very busy time.

Whilst we understand that the timeline for opening up theatres remains contingent on the government’s four-stage plan continuing as planned, we are proceeding with optimism and look forward to welcoming you to our theatre this summer. Please view our terms & conditions on our website which will have details of our Covid-secure guidelines, and will be updated as and when the Government advises.

Auditorium seating:

We will be abiding by all the relevant government guidance, which currently means a socially distanced seating plan, maintaining a distance of 2 metres where possible (and otherwise no less than 1 metre) and asking you to wear a face covering. Everyone, including household groups, will be socially distanced as we cannot change the seating plan each night. We reserve the right to change the seating plan as the season progresses.

Thank you for your support and your patience and I look forward to welcoming you back to Tolethorpe Hall and our beloved theatre.

Best wishes
