Dear [title] [surname],

Tickets for Stamford Shakespeare Company’s performance of Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare

It is with great regret that we have decided that we are unable to go ahead with our plans to present Romeo and Juliet as part of our 2021 season. The restrictions still in place mean that it is impossible for us to produce this play that is so full of passion and rage in the way that we had hoped.

Although we will be providing ticketholders with the option of a full refund, we really hope that you will prefer to swop your tickets to either the replacement production, Humble Boy by Charlotte Jones, or one of our other productions – Love’s Labour’s Lost by William Shakespeare or The Importance of Being Earnest by Oscar Wilde.

How to exchange your tickets:

Please contact our box office on 01780 756133 (10am-2pm, Mon-Fri) who will arrange the transfer of tickets, or email: boxoffice@stamfordartscentre.com You have priority booking from 29th March to 18th April before the tickets go on public sale.

Whilst we understand that the timeline for opening up theatres remains contingent on the government’s four-stage plan continuing as planned, we are proceeding with optimism and hoping that we are allowed to open our theatre this summer. Please view our terms & conditions on our website which will have details of our Covid-secure guidelines and will be updated as and when the Government advises.

Auditorium seating:

We will be abiding by all the relevant government guidance, which currently means a socially distanced seating plan, maintaining a distance of 2 metres where possible (and otherwise no less than 1 metre) and asking you to wear a face covering. Household groups will be socially distanced as we cannot change the seating plan each night. We reserve the right to change the seating plan as the season progresses.

Thank you for your support and your patience and I look forward to welcoming you back to Tolethorpe Hall and our beloved theatre.

Best wishes
